Description: The Department of Independent Study is a part of the Division of
Continuing Education. It serves as an extension of the university by
providing quality correspondence courses to students in a distance
education or a nontraditional education circumstance and to students
who have schedule conflicts, need credits to graduate, or are trying to
graduate sooner. Independent Study provides a convenient means of
polishing professional skills and earning continuing professional
education hours, recertification credits, or lane-change requirements.
Independent Study is an excellent resource for self-motivated learners
who are seeking university-level information or credit.
