Description: The Center for Applied Telecommunications develops accessible networks to support distance education, service learning, and local community human services support, through intermodal networks combining computer conferencing and voicemail_conferencing.
We are the founders of the Distance Education Computer Telephony Consortium, a partnership group of colleges and universities using voicemail_and computer
conferencing to increase interactivity in distance ed. We are developing a means to assist our members to share their courses with other institutions, with a special
emphasis on their experiences in interactivity, including solutions to teacher workloads, attrition rates, evaluation models, etc.
The Center has received corporate donations of hardware and software which it is also using to develop platforms for DECTEC participants for distance ed interactivity.
