Global Village Learning Web Site: http://www.gwi.net/global/ E-mail:global@gwi.net global@gwi.net Phone: 207.729.6090 Description: Global Village Learning is a learning technology specialist. We stock & list html compliant automated instructional software of several types: self-actualizing, teacher/mentor supervised, w/instructional shells that can be modified using authoring tools, and with integrated assessments that are objectified and loop back into individualized lesson planners. Most of the software is standards referenced, export to automated curriculum management tools like TIMMS and full-blown portfolios ie. GRADY, and is cross platform. Our AEC line is designed to run district wide, client/server(NT), and can be modifed by curriculum specialists, yet accessed by students, parents, teachers, etc. It is so power- ful, it is replacing conventional textbooks at lower grades for a substantial savings to schools. Other unique hardware/software includes inexpensive laptops that can be integrated into learning pods and used in team settings; special adaptive technology that enhances learning i.e. artifical speech (including multi-voice singing and foreign/english language learning) and learn anywhere computer driven drill & practice devices. Our software base includes several thousand titles, of which we really know several hundred fairly well. Special collections include language learning, art appreciation, government, Math -8 ways, APC studies, automated testing, stock market & financial management for kids, and home schooling. We also design and install labs using custom built servers and workstations with kid & school proof components. What we do best is automate conventional instruction.
