Greenleaf University Accreditation: None as yet Web Site: http://www.greenleaf.edu E-mail: provost@greenleaf.edu Phone: 314-383-0550 Description: Greenleaf University is a distance learning Ph.D. program in leadership and administration. GU has based its curriculum on the philosophy of servant leadership as proclaimed by Robert K. Greenleaf, the namesake for our school. The curriculum is comprized of seven STEPS which consist of Servant Leadership, Global Community, Organizational Strategies, Research design and Analysis, Professional Issues, Professional Futures and Professional Linkages. The program combines the STEP topics with the learner's professional field and dissertation writing. By the end of the fourth STEP the learner has an approved proposal for his/her dissertation and by the end of the seventh STEP, the learner has an approved dissertation. Each STEP is composed of the Macro Knowledge Component in which the learner reads at least 5 classical texts and writes a paper of 30 to 50 pages; the Micro Knowledge Component in which the learner reads at least 15 current journal articles and writes a paper of 30 to 50 pages. The third component of each STEP is the Competency Component in which the learner puts the theory of the first two components into practice in his/her own professional field and writes a 15 -30 page case study about that experience. This is a new concept and combines course work with dissertation writing and the learner's professional field.
