Description: The Office of Independent Study provides opportunities for more than
13,000 students from all 50 states and many foreign countries to study
via correspondence at any time throughout the year. College-level
courses are the same in scope and content as those taught on campus,
but allow students to study at their own pace, when and where they
wish. As one of the nation's largest programs, Independent Study
offers 150 college credit courses, 25 professional non-credit courses,
76 high school courses, and the opportunity to complete a high school
diploma. Students move independently at their own rate through course
materials specially designed by the faculty. Instructors correspond by
mail, phone, and electronic to answer student questions.
