Description: In 1911, Western Illinois University was the first institution in
Illinois to offer off-campus instruction. Since then, several thousand
courses have been delivered to tens of thousands of off-campus
learners. The University's off-campus enrollment surpassed its
enrollment of new freshmen for the first time in fall 1991. This trend
of increased off-campus enrollments continues.
